WHAT IS NEW?

Solv Safir will be taking a break from orders for a period of time due to a new addition to our family. Our long awaited baby girl, Isla, decided to come into this world a little earlier than anticipated. She was born at 24weeks gestation. She is now home and is relatively healthy, to which we are beyond relieved and excited. The journey has not been an uncomplicated one.

We will let you all know when we are back on deck

We appreciate your patience and positive thoughts.

Solv Safir has embarked on an additional new journey, not related to jewellery, but still remains hand crafted.  We have commenced making grain bags using locally sourced grain to provide you with comfort for pain and to assist you with relaxation.  You can find these products at a small shop in town: The Botanic House, here in Nagambie, Victoria.  Please refer to the tag in the header for instructions and FAQ on our grain bags.  Our grain bags will soon be sold online as well.  Watch this space!

Do not fret, our work on commissioned pieces of jewellery continues.  Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

OUR ORIGINS

HOW WE GOT HERE

Jody Pederson, the Canadian-born owner and jeweller at Sølv & Safir, embarked on her love of designing and handcrafting jewellery in 2016.  In early 2017, she was asked to become a sessional teacher at the Contemporary Metal studio in Osbourne Park, Western Australia.  She worked alongside the notable Mr Philip Noakes, teaching 6-week courses to beginner students and assisting with advanced students as required.

Ms Pederson started her own business, Sølv & Safir, in Western Australia and has since relocated to country Victoria.

Her creations are inspired by strong lines and bold structures of geometrics, whilst capturing the beauty and cycle of life.  Each piece is created by hand and gemstones are carefully selected to compliment the design of the product.

Ms Pederson has exhibited her work at the Adorn Exhibition, Joondalup (WA), at the Contemporary Metal studio, Osbourne Park (WA) and at Gallery Gems, Victoria Park (WA) .

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?

Sølv & Safir is Norwegian for Silver and Sapphire.  Ms Pederson's heritage is Norwegian and silver and sapphire gemstones are undoubtably two of her favorite items to work with.

________

Feel free to browse through our product gallery.  If you see something that catches your eye or you are interested in having us commission a piece for you, please do not hesitate to make an enquiry.  Most of the jewellery is created using sterling silver and fine silver; however, if you wish for your piece to be made with an alternate metal, we will make every effort to fulfill your request.
